Workday is the system of record. It's not designed for the thinking - exploring sequences, comparing scenarios, weighing trade-offs. That's the gap we close.

Workday is the system of record - where you officially register. Course Planner is here to help you plan, but it WILL NOT register courses. It sits beside Workday: a multi-year roadmap, what-if scenarios, conflict-aware scheduling. When you're ready, you export to Workday and register there.

You can add or remove years as needed - it's up to you to decide how many years the plan should cover. When creating a new course plan, you can choose whether it covers all your years at UBC (from scratch, where you add courses to every year) or starts from Year N (the current and remaining years only).
Yes - you can have as many as you wish, and delete, duplicate, and rename them at any time. They all appear in the load drop-down menu.
Yes - every course chip lights up if a prerequisite isn't satisfied by an earlier term in your plan. You can view the full prerequisite tree, see where it's met, and find equivalent alternatives without leaving the planner.

Yes. If a section you want has no seats, click the bell beside its seat info to track it. We check your tracked sections on a regular schedule and email you when an unreserved seat opens . It's a best-effort heads-up - it can be delayed or miss a brief opening, so keep an eye on Workday for the most up-to-date availability. And remember Course Planner never registers you - you register yourself in Workday.
Yes. Save more than one schedule for the same term, then open the schedule switcher and click "Compare schedules". You'll see two of them as side-by-side calendars - shared courses keep the same colour in both grids, and a summary panel calls out which sections, meeting times, free days, and custom events differ. The comparison is read-only; you keep editing in the normal scheduler.
No. The platform is designed so you add courses to a term in the planner first, then export (schedule) that term into the Term Scheduler.
Yes. Open Course Insights, search a course, and the Grades tab shows historical grade distributions from UBC PAIR data - the same source behind ubcgrades.com. You get the average and median over time, a 25th-75th percentile band, the high/low range, and the full grade histogram. Switch to single-offering mode to see one specific term (e.g. 2025W-001) on its own. It's descriptive history, not a prediction of your grade, and some buckets are suppressed for privacy when fewer than six students fall in them. Grades currently cover UBC Okanagan courses.
All UBC Okanagan students with active credentials can sign in. We're rolling out support for Vancouver-campus programs next term. Faculty and advisors get a read-only advising view automatically.
